As per research done by social analyst David Chalke, a person’s mobile phone “gives an insight into their attitudes towards work, rest and play. People always used to say it about cars, ‘you drive what you are’… and now your phone (represents) what you are.”

- LG handset - women aged 14 - 24 years, not mechanically minded
- Samsung - conservative dressers over 50 years
- Blackberry users - high-earners aged 35 to 49
- Nokia users - young, plays arcade video games
